When a team member leaves your organization, managing their account and work items is crucial for maintaining team productivity and data continuity. This article walks you through the process of transitioning work accounts during employee turnover.
Account Transition Steps
Follow these three steps when bringing on a new team member in Ninety to replace a previous user.
- Deactivate the departing team member's account.
- Add the new team member to Ninety.
- Reassign or transfer existing work items.
What Happens to Existing Work Items?
When a team member is deactivated, their incomplete work items remain important team assets:
- Rocks continue to be assigned to the team in the Shared Rocks section
- To-dos remain with the original team
- Issues and headlines stay with the assigned group
- Archived items remain owned by the original user
To reassign an item:
- Open its details panel. Click the item's row in the corresponding tool.
- Assign to a new owner. Click the profile icon on the top right of the details panel and select the user to take over ownership.
