Beta Feature

This integration is currently in beta for a select group of companies and users. Learn more about our beta program here. Please be advised, this feature may change before becoming generally available.

Ninety's monday.com integration allows you to sync To-Dos from one of your teams in Ninety with a table on one of your monday.com boards. This integration is built for teams already using monday.com for project management and Ninety for whole-company operating. With Ninety and monday.com working together, you'll have:

  • Continuous Sync: Automatically synchronize To-Dos between Ninety and monday.com. Changes to task status (completed or not completed) and due dates will be updated on both platforms.
  • User-Level Control: Individual users can connect their monday.com accounts and manage their preferences.
  • Streamlined Workflows: Maintain alignment across systems without duplicate entry or switching platforms.

One-time Installation Before Continuing

Before taking advantage of Ninety's integration with monday.com, someone from your company with Admin access to monday.com will need to install the Ninety app within your monday.com workspace. Learn how below.

Setting Up Your monday.com Integration

The first person from your company to set up the integration between monday.com and Ninety will first need to install the Ninety app in monday.com using this link. Here's how:

  1. Connect monday.com to Ninety from your monday.com account. Someone with admin-level permissions in your monday.com account needs to click here to launch the install window.
  2. Determine which of your workspaces to connect to Ninety. Leave “All Workspaces” selected or click “Specific Workspaces” and select the desired workspaces to connect to Ninety. Importantly, each team member will only be able to connect to one board with this integration, even if they're allowed to choose that board from any of your monday.com workspaces.
  3. Review and confirm permissions. After reviewing the permissions, click the Install button.

Connect monday.com to Ninety

After an Admin completes this step, other team members can immediately connect to monday from Ninety's integrations marketplace.

Subscription Plan Limitations

Enabling our integration with monday.com is available to users of companies on either our Accelerate or Thrive premium subscription plans. However, you may also be limited by your company's pricing tier on monday.com.

At the time of writing, monday.com's Standard and Pro tiers include a limited number of integration actions each month, while their Free and Basic tiers do not allow integrations. Please verify your company's pricing tier before proceeding.

User Role Permissions

Any Ninety user with a paid license (Managees, Managers, Admins, and Owners) can connect to one of our integrations like this one as long as their organization is subscribed to either our Accelerate or Thrive premium subscription plan.

How to Enable the monday.com Integration

After you've installed Ninety in your team's monday.com account, any Ninety user* can set up Ninety's monday.com integration from their User Settings > Integrations page. Here's how:

  1. Navigate to your integrations page in user settings (User Settings > Integrations > Marketplace). First, click your name at the bottom of the left navigation. Next, click User Settings. Then, click Integrations. Finally, click Marketplace.
  2. Begin connecting Ninety to your monday.com account. Click the Connect button on the monday widget in Ninety's integration marketplace.
  3. Grant access for Ninety to connect to your monday.com account. Click Grant Access and name your connection. Next, click Continue. Then, click the Grant Access button.
  4. Authorize the integration's required permissions. First, ensure the intended monday.com account is shown in the top right corner of the page. You can sign in to another monday.com account from this window if necessary. Next, review the permissions for your integration to operate, then click Authorize. Once the connection is confirmed, click OK, thank you.
  5. Configure the integration between Ninety and monday.com. Select which board from your monday.com account to connect to. You can only select one board, so choose the board you'd like to populate with your new To-Dos from Ninety and from which to send newly created items on that board to your team's To-Dos list in Ninety. After making your selection, click Continue.
  6. Sync your board with your To-Dos list. Since Ninety and monday.com use different terminology, you'll need to align some necessary fields. After making a selection for a field, such as Due date, we'll apply that selection throughout the list of variables.
    1. Choose a team in Ninety. This integration will connect To-Dos associated with this team assigned to you to the above monday.com table. You can only select one team in Ninety with this integration.
    2. Choose a table from your monday.com board. Use the monday Table dropdown to select a table from your board in monday.com.
    3. Ensure mapped field names are correct for Ninety to monday.com To-Do creation. Verify that the correct field values are selected for Due date and Owner, which are likely referred to as Date and Person in monday.com, respectively.
    4. Ensure mapped field names are correct for Ninety to monday.com updates. Verify the correct field values are selected for the due date, status, Owner, and task title sections. In monday.com, To-Dos from Monday will show up in the first column of the assigned table (often called Task or Item by default).
    5. Ensure mapped field names are correct for monday.com to Ninety updates. Verify the correct field values are selected for the due date and status sections. When a To-Do is synced between monday.com and Ninety and marked Done in monday.com, the To-Do will be marked completed in Ninety.
    6. Review and then continue. Review your selections and then click Continue. Please allow a few moments for Ninety and monday.com to save your preferences.
  7. Complete the connection. Click the Let's go! button. The monday widget on Ninety's integrations marketplace page should now display “Connected” in the top right corner.

*This integration is available to Ninety users on a paid license from companies on one of our paid subscription plans.

If you're removed as the owner/assignee of an item in monday, Ninety will automatically delete the matching To-Do.

Why Should I Bring My monday.com Tasks Into Ninety?

While you may be using monday.com for project management, Ninety is your organization's strategic platform to keep teams focused, aligned, and thriving. Team members sometimes use various tools to complete their work, so pointing everything back to Ninety with integrations reduces the need for task duplication while increasing accountability and visibility.

Syncing your monday.com tasks to Ninety allows:

  • Your team to review current To-Dos and project tasks during Level 10 Meetings within Ninety.
  • Leadership and Managers to view your team's To-Do completion with the Insights tool.
  • Action items created during meetings to appear on your monday.com table.

How to Reconfigure Your monday.com Integration

At this time, you cannot reconfigure your monday.com integration to select a different workspace, board, or table in your monday account or a different team in your Ninety account.

If you need to reconfigure your integration, please reach out to our support team.

How to Use the monday.com Integration

After your integration is connected:

  • Ninety to Monday: Newly created To-Dos assigned to you from the team connected in the integration will also appear on the monday.com table you connected.
  • Monday to Ninety: Newly created tasks on the table you connected in the integration will also appear as To-Dos assigned to you on your team's To-Dos list in Ninety.
  • Both Monday and Ninety: Changes made to the due date, title, or status (completed or not completed only) will bidirectionally sync moments after a change is made on either platform.

How to Add a monday.com Table to Your Meeting Agenda

Companies subscribed to either Ninety's Accelerate or Thrive subscription plan can create new meeting agendas or customize existing ones (learn more here).

If your team uses monday.com for project management, adding a custom agenda item to review your team's board can help you save time from switching back and forth between tabs and improve your team's alignment. This process takes two steps:

  • Accessing a shareable link from monday.com.
  • Adding a custom agenda item to your team's meeting agenda in Ninety.

Necessary User Roles and Permissions

Only board owners can generate a shareable link in monday.com, learn more here. To create or customize meeting agends in Ninety, you need a Manager or higher user role and your company must be subscribed to our Accelerate or Thrive plan.

Board owners in monday can create and share a view-only version of a board in their account by generating a shareable link. To access a shareable link from your monday.com board:

  1. Navigate to the board you want to share. Log in to monday.com. Navigate to the board you want to share and review during a meeting.
  2. Copy your shareable link. Click on the three dots next to your preferred board view. Next, click Share view from the options shown. Then, you may edit the name of this shared view and add a description. Finally, click Copy to the right of the Shareable link textbox.
  3. Add the link to a custom agenda item. Paste your shareable link in the Web page URL to load section of an agenda item in Ninety (learn more below).

Adding Your monday.com Board to a Meeting in Ninety

To add reviewing your board from monday.com to one of your team's meeting agendas in Ninety, follow these steps:

  1. Determine a team and meeting agenda to edit. First, navigate to Ninety's Meetings tool. Next, choose a team from the Team dropdown. Then, click the Agendas tab. Finally, select an agenda, such as your team's Level 10 Meeting agenda, or create a new agenda.
  2. Add a custom section to your team's agenda. First, click Add Custom Section at the bottom left of the agenda widget. Then, name your new agenda item (for example, “Monday Board Review”).
  3. Add details and your shareable link to the new agenda item. In any order you like: drag and drop the new agenda item to the desired position; paste your shareable link in the Web page URL textbox; click the wrench icon to ensure your board will load correctly in Ninety
  4. Save your changes. When you're ready, click the Save Changes button located at the top right of the page. This is an important step since, unlike other areas of Ninety, changes made to meeting agendas are not saved automatically.

When your team is reviewing the monday table during a meeting, you can click Ninety's Create button to quickly add an Issue to further discuss ongoing projects or create a To-Do, which, when assigned to someone with the integration set up, will sync with monday.

Tip: Add the direct link to your board in the agenda's description, so you can quickly navigate to your board in monday during a meeting if you need to modify your team's tasks lists there.
