How to Print Knowledge Portal Content
The Knowledge Portal's PDF export lets you save or print any individual piece of content as a formatted PDF. This works in both Learn Mode and Edit Mode, so any user with access to the content can generate a PDF without needing special permissions.
How to export content to PDF
You can export any topic, subtopic, or task to PDF from within the Knowledge Portal. The PDF icon appears in the upper right corner of the content window when you have a topic, subtopic, or task open.
To export a topic, subtopic, or task to PDF:
- Click Knowledge from the left navigation.
- Navigate to the collection, then click the topic, subtopic, or task you want to export.
- Click the PDF icon in the upper right corner of the content window.
- The content loads as a PDF in a new browser tab.
- Save or print the PDF from your browser as needed.
Note: The PDF icon appears when viewing a specific topic, subtopic, or task. It is not available on the Knowledge Portal home page or collection pages.
Printing the PDF
Once the PDF loads in a new browser tab:
- Go to File > Print or press Ctrl + P (Windows) or Cmd + P (Mac) to open the print dialog.
- Confirm the correct printer is selected.
- Adjust page size, orientation (Portrait or Landscape), and margins as needed.
- Click Print.
You can also save the PDF to your computer by choosing Save as PDF from the printer destination dropdown in your browser's print dialog.
