How to Share and Duplicate Measurables Across Team Scorecards
Ninety gives you two ways to put a Measurable on more than one team's Scorecard. The first is sharing, where the same Measurable appears across multiple Scorecards and all data is automatically synchronized. The second is duplicating, where you create an independent copy that each team or individual can enter and track on their own. Choosing the wrong method is one of the most common Scorecard mistakes — and it's hard to spot until data starts behaving unexpectedly.
Owners, Admins, Managers, and Coaches can share and duplicate Measurables. Team Members can enter data for Measurables they're assigned to, but can't add, share, or duplicate Measurables themselves.
Shared vs. independent: what's the difference?
Shared Measurables are created using the Add Existing Measurable option. When you add an existing Measurable to a second team's Scorecard, you're not creating a copy. You're creating a second window into the same Measurable. This means:
- Any data entered on either team's Scorecard instantly appears on both.
- If you change the goal, title, description, or any setting on one Scorecard, that change appears everywhere the Measurable is shared.
- Only one person needs to enter the data — both teams see it in real time.
Think of it like a Google Doc. There is only one document. Multiple teams can view and edit it, but everyone is looking at and updating the same thing.
This applies within a single team too. If you add the same existing Measurable to multiple groups within one team's Scorecard, updating the Measurable in one group automatically updates it in all the others. If your groups need to track independently, you'll need separate Measurables — not the same one added multiple times.
Duplicated Measurables are independent copies. Each one has its own data, its own goal, and its own owner. Updates to one do not affect the others.
| Shared (Add Existing) | Duplicated | |
|---|---|---|
| Data syncs automatically | Yes | No |
| Multiple owners | No (one owner) | Yes (one per copy) |
| Goals can differ per team | No | Yes |
| Requires separate data entry | No | Yes |
Use sharing when multiple teams need visibility on the same metric, and one person enters the data. For example, total company revenue is on both the Leadership and Finance Scorecards.
Use duplication when each team or person needs their own version of a similar metric with independent tracking. For example, each sales rep's individual quota.
Sharing Measurables across teams
Use this process when you want the same Measurable visible on multiple teams' Scorecards with synchronized data. Owners, Admins, Managers, and Coaches can complete these steps.
- Click Scorecard from the left navigation.
- Use the Team dropdown at the top of the page to select the team you want to add the Measurable to.
- Click New Measurable on the intended group's card.
- Select Add Existing Measurable from the options shown.
- Search for the Measurable by name.
- Click the Measurable to select it, then click Add.
The Measurable now appears on both the original team's Scorecard and the new team's Scorecard. Any updates to data, goals, or details made in either Scorecard are immediately reflected in both. The original owner remains accountable, but both teams can see the data in their meetings.
Adding multiple Measurables from the same person at once
If you need to add many Measurables from one team to another and don't want to search for each one individually, you can filter the Add Existing Measurable search by person. Selecting a person's name adds all the Measurables assigned to them at once. This is the fastest way to mirror one person's Scorecard setup onto a different team.
- Follow steps 1–4 above to open the Add Existing Measurable search.
- Instead of searching by Measurable name, search by the name of the person whose Measurables you want to add.
- Select the person from the results.
- All Measurables assigned to that person are added to the group at once.
Duplicating Measurables for independent tracking
Use this method when you need a separate, independent copy of a Measurable that won't sync with the original.
From the Scorecard
Owners, Admins, Managers, and Coaches can duplicate from the Scorecard tool.
- Click Scorecard from the left navigation.
- Use the Team dropdown to navigate to the team where the Measurable currently lives.
- Check the box on the left side of the Measurable's row.
- Click Select Action at the top right of the group's card.
- Click Duplicate.
- Click the newly created Measurable to open its details card.
- Update the owner, title, goal, description, and any other details for this copy.
- Click Save.
From the Measurable Manager
Owners, Admins, and Coaches can also duplicate from the Measurable Manager, which is useful when working across multiple teams.
- Click Scorecard from the left navigation.
- Click Go to Measurable Manager on the filters bar.
- Find the Measurable you want to duplicate.
- Click the three dots (⋯) next to the Measurable.
- Select Duplicate from the dropdown.
- The duplicated Measurable appears with "copy" appended to its name.
- Click it to open its details card and update the owner, team, goal, and description.
- Click Save.
- If the Measurable isn't yet on a Scorecard, navigate to the intended team's Scorecard, click New Measurable, select Add Existing Measurable, search for the new copy, and click Add.
Moving a Measurable from one team to another
Moving a Measurable means removing it from one team's Scorecard and adding it to another. The Measurable stays intact with all historical data is preserved.
Example: Your company recently split the Marketing and Membership teams. You need to move "Member Retention Rate" from the combined team to just the Membership team.
- Navigate to the original team's Scorecard.
- Check the box next to the Measurable you want to move.
- Click Select Action at the top right of the group's card.
- Click Remove from group.
The Measurable is removed from this team's Scorecard but not deleted. Its historical data remains intact.
- Use the Team dropdown to navigate to the new team's Scorecard.
- Click New Measurable on the intended group's card.
- Select Add Existing Measurable.
- Search for the Measurable by name, select it, and click Add.
Common scenario: setting up the same Measurables for multiple team members
A frequently asked question: "I have five sales reps who each need to track 'New Leads' with their own individual goals. How do I avoid creating each one from scratch?"
The challenge is that using Add Existing Measurable won't work here — all five reps would share the same data and the same goal, which isn't useful for individual quotas.
The right approach is to duplicate and reassign.
- Create the first Measurable with the correct title, description, goal, and frequency.
- Duplicate it once for each additional team member (four times in this example).
- For each duplicate:
- Click it to open the details card.
- Change the owner to the appropriate team member.
- Adjust the goal if individual targets differ.
- Rename it if helpful (for example, "New Leads — Alex" vs. "New Leads — Jordan").
- Click Save on each.
Permissions summary
| Action | Who can do it |

| Duplicate from the Measurable Manager | Owner, Admin, Coach |
| Move a Measurable between teams | Owner, Admin, Manager, Coach |
| Enter data for a Measurable | Any user assigned to that Measurable |
If you don't see the options described here, check your user role in the Directory or contact your company's Admin or Owner.
Troubleshooting
I can't find the Measurable I want to share when I search for it.
Try these steps in order:
- Confirm the Measurable hasn't been archived. Archived Measurables don't appear in the Add Existing search. To check, go to the Measurable Manager and look for the Measurable with the Archived filter enabled.
- Check the spelling. The search is case-sensitive to the first letter.
- Try a partial name search — searching for two or three words from the title rather than the full name can help surface it.
- If the Measurable still doesn't appear, try refreshing the page or using a different browser. Console errors can occasionally prevent the search from loading all results.
- If none of the above resolves it, contact support and share the Measurable name and which team it's currently on.
My shared Measurable isn't syncing between teams.
If data entered on one Scorecard isn't appearing on another, you likely created duplicates instead of sharing the same Measurable. Check the Measurable Manager for multiple instances with similar names. If you find duplicates, remove the extras from each team and re-add them using Add Existing Measurable to ensure they're pointing to the same source.
If the data is simply delayed, try refreshing the browser.
I accidentally shared a Measurable when I meant to duplicate it — and now both teams' data is the same.
- Remove the Measurable from the teams where you want independent tracking. Click the checkbox next to it, click Select Action, and select Remove from group.
- Create new Measurables for those teams (or duplicate the original from the Measurable Manager).
- Add the new independent copies to the intended teams using New Measurable.
Removing a Measurable from a group doesn't delete it or its historical data, so you won't lose anything.
I removed a Measurable from a team and can't get it back.
Removing a Measurable from a group doesn't delete it. Navigate to the team's Scorecard, click New Measurable, select Add Existing Measurable, search for it by name, and add it back. All historical data will reappear.
The Add Existing Measurable option isn't visible.
Only Owners, Admins, Managers, and Coaches see this option. Check your role in the Directory. If you're a Team Member, ask a Manager, Admin, or Owner to add the Measurable for you.
