Archiving and Deleting Rocks

A quick guide to archiving and deleting your team's Rocks on Ninety.

Written by Tommy Mains

How to Archive and Delete Rocks in Ninety

The Rocks archive saves all your historical quarterly goals data in a central location. Your team's Rocks are automatically sent to the archive after concluding a quarterly meeting, but you can also archive or delete Rocks at any time from the Rocks tool.

Archiving Rocks

Archiving a Rock moves it from your active workspace to the archive, preserving its information for future reference and reducing clutter.

Archiving a Single Rock

Any licensed user can archive a Rock, regardless of its status. Here's how:

  1. Click Rocks from the left navigation.

  2. Right-click the Rock or click the ellipsis at the end of its row.

  3. Select Archive from the dropdown.

You can also archive a Rock from its details panel by clicking the ellipsis at the top of the panel and selecting Archive.

Bulk Archiving Completed Rocks

Users with Manager or higher permissions can archive all Rocks with the “Completed” status simultaneously.

To archive all completed Rocks:

  1. Click Rocks from the left navigation.

  2. Click the ellipsis on the right side of the filters bar.

  3. Select Archive Completed from the dropdown.

Restoring Archived Rocks

To restore an archived Rock:

  1. Click Rocks from the left navigation.

  2. Select the intended team from the Team dropdown.

  3. Click the Archive toggle on.

  4. Right-click the intended Rock.

  5. Select Unarchive from the dropdown.

Deleting Rocks

Deleting a Rock moves it to the Trash view, where it can be restored. Any licensed user can delete a Rock.

To delete a Rock:

  1. Right-click the intended Rock.

  2. Select Delete from the dropdown.

To restore a deleted Rock, open the Trash view from the More Action menu in the toolbar. The Trash view shows Rocks deleted from today forward — Rocks deleted before this feature was available can be restored with the help of our Support team. Deleted milestones are not shown separately in the Trash view, but restoring a Rock restores all of its milestones with it. Note: linked items will not be viewable on a restored Rock.
