How to Connect More Than One Ninety Company to Claude

You can connect Claude to every Ninety company you belong to by adding one Ninety connector for each company. Each connector reaches one company: the one you're working in within Ninety when you authorize it. Give each connector its own server URL by adding a question mark and a word to the end, name it after its company, and then you can ask about any of those companies, or all of them, in a single Claude conversation.

This setup is most useful for Implementers working with several client companies and for leaders running more than one business.

What you need for each company

Your plan and your role are set separately in each Ninety company, so check the following for every company you want to connect:

  • The company is on the Thrive or Legacy plan.

  • You have a connecting role in that company. Owners, Admins, Implementers, Managers, and Team Members (Managees) can connect. Observers cannot, so a company where you're an Observer can't be connected.

  • You have a paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise). On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, your Claude administrator may have turned off custom connectors.

To learn more about what the connector can read and create, and how it handles your data, see Claude Connector for Ninety.

How company connections work in Claude

Claude reaches each Ninety company through its own connector, and these rules decide how the connectors behave:

  • Each connector reaches one company, the one you're working in within Ninety when you authorize it.

  • The Authorize Integration screen names the company the connector will reach. You can't change the company on that screen.

  • Claude won't save two connectors with the same server URL. Adding a question mark and a word to the end, such as https://api.public.ninety.io/mcp?acme, makes each URL unique, and the connection works the same way.

  • There's no limit on how many companies you can connect.

  • Claude lists each connector by its name and doesn't show the company behind it, so the name is how you and Claude tell your companies apart.

How to add a connector for another company

To add a Ninety connector for another company, switch to that company in Ninety first, then add and authorize the connector in Claude:

  1. In Ninety, click your company's name at the top of the left navigation and select the company you want to connect. Close any other Ninety tabs that are open on a different company, so the connection picks up the right one.

  2. In Claude, click your name in the bottom-left corner, then click Settings. Under Customize, click Connectors.

  3. Choose the option to add a custom connector.

  4. Name the connector after the company, such as Ninety – Acme Co.

  5. Enter the server URL with a question mark and a word at the end, such as https://api.public.ninety.io/mcp?acme. Use a single word with no spaces, and a different word for each connector.

  6. Add the connector, then click Connect.

  7. On the Authorize Integration screen, check the company it names. If it's the right company, click Authorize Integration. If it's the wrong one, click Cancel and start again from step 1.

  8. Back in Claude, confirm the new connector appears in your Connectors list, then set its tool permissions.

Watch the video below for a walkthrough of adding a connector for another company.

How to set tool permissions for each connector

Each Ninety connector in Claude has its own tool permissions, so a connector you just added asks for your approval before each tool runs, even if you already changed the permissions on another connector. Open the connector in Claude's Connectors settings to set each tool to run without asking, ask every time, or never run.

Keeping the tools that write to Ninety set to ask every time is a good habit, especially Put Scorecard Score, because entering a score replaces the value already recorded for that Measurable and period.

How to work with several companies in one conversation

All of your connected Ninety companies are available in the same Claude conversation, so you can ask about one company, compare several, or move from one company to the next without starting a new chat. Claude chooses which connector to use from your request, so name the company or the connector whenever it matters:

  • Show me the off-track Rocks in Ninety – Acme Co.

  • Compare the off-track Rocks across all my Ninety companies.

  • Add a To-Do for Sam in Ninety – Acme Co. to send the updated proposal by Friday.

Rocks are your company's 90-day priorities. If a request could apply to more than one company, name the one you mean.

Each connector works as you in its own company. What Claude can see and change there follows your role and team assignments in that company, and items Claude creates are recorded as yours in the company it created them in.

How to disconnect one company

To stop Claude from reaching one company, disconnect that company's connector. Your other Ninety connectors keep working.

  1. In Claude, click your name in the bottom-left corner, then click Settings. Under Customize, click Connectors.

  2. Select the Ninety connector for that company.

  3. Click Disconnect.

Claude loses access to that company as soon as you disconnect.

Troubleshooting

Issue: Claude won't save the new connector.

Solution:

  1. Check the server URL. Claude won't save two connectors with the same URL.

  2. Add a question mark and a word you haven't used for another connector to the end of the URL, such as https://api.public.ninety.io/mcp?acme.

  3. If the issue persists, contact support.

Issue: The Authorize Integration screen shows the wrong company.

Solution:

  1. Click Cancel. Nothing is connected until you authorize.

  2. In Ninety, switch to the right company and close any other Ninety tabs that are open on a different company.

  3. In Claude, click Connect on the connector again.

  4. If the issue persists, contact support.

Frequently asked questions

How many Ninety companies can I connect to Claude?

There's no limit. Add one connector for each company, each with its own server URL and a name that matches its company.

Does the word after the question mark matter?

No. Any single word with no spaces works, as long as each connector's URL is different. Using the company's name makes the URL easy to recognize later.

Can I use all of my companies in one conversation?

Yes. Every connected company is available in the same Claude conversation. Name the company or the connector in your request so Claude uses the right one.

Does this work in Claude Code?

Yes. Claude Code can reach more than one company the same way, with a separate Ninety server for each company, each with its own name and URL ending. See Claude Connector for Ninety for the Claude Code setup command.

Can I connect more than one company in ChatGPT or another assistant?

This article covers Claude. Each assistant handles companies differently, so check its setup guide from Connecting Ninety's MCP to Your Preferred AI Platform.

Does connecting another company change what I can see or do in Ninety?

No. Each connector runs as you, with the role and team assignments you already have in that company.
