How to Use Ninety's MCP Connector with AI
You can connect Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, or Antigravity to your Ninety account using the Ninety MCP connector, and work with your Rocks (your 90-day priorities), Issues, To-Dos, Scorecard, meetings, V/TO®, and Accountability Chart® in plain language. Every assistant uses the same server URL, and every connection runs as you, so it can only ever see and do what you can already see and do in Ninety.
Owners, Admins, Implementers, Managers, and Team Members (Managees) can connect, while Observers cannot. You need a Ninety account on the Thrive or Legacy plan and an assistant plan that supports custom connectors.

What the Ninety MCP connector is
The Ninety MCP connector is a connection between an AI assistant and your Ninety account that lets the assistant read your operating data and create or update a defined set of items in Ninety. Instead of exporting a Scorecard or retyping meeting notes as To-Dos, you ask your assistant, and it works with your live Ninety data.
What is MCP? MCP, or Model Context Protocol, is an open standard for securely connecting AI assistants to outside systems, such as your Scorecard in Ninety.
The connector exposes 27 capabilities, called tools: 17 that read your data and 10 that write to it. Anything not on that list is never reachable, so an assistant cannot act on parts of Ninety that the connector does not cover.
Which AI assistants you can connect
Four assistants are supported. Each has its own setup guide, because each adds custom connectors in a different place. You can connect more than one at the same time.
Claude Connector for Ninety — Claude on the web, the desktop app, or Claude Code. Added in Claude's Connectors settings, or with one command.
ChatGPT Connector for Ninety — The ChatGPT desktop app. Added from the Plugins page, with Add MCP server.
Grok Connector for Ninety — xAI's assistant on the web. Added from the Connectors page at grok.com, with New Connector.
Antigravity Connector for Ninety — Google's agent-first development environment. Added by editing its MCP config file.
The Ninety server URL
Every assistant connects to Ninety at the same address: https://api.public.ninety.io/mcp
Ninety is not published to any assistant's public connector store, so searching for it there will not find it. You add it yourself as a custom connector using that URL, and your assistant works out the rest — it discovers the sign-in process and prompts you to log in to Ninety and authorize the connection.
What you need before you connect
Confirm all three of the following before you start, because the connector will not appear or authorize without them:
A Ninety account on the Thrive or Legacy plan. The connector runs as you, so your role and team assignments determine what your assistant can see.
A connecting role. Owners, Admins, Implementers, Managers, and Team Members (Managees) can connect. Observers cannot.
An assistant plan that supports custom connectors. This varies by assistant: Antigravity and Grok work on free plans, while Claude and ChatGPT need a paid plan. Each setup article lists what that assistant requires.
You do not need a Personal Access Token for the connector. You authorize it in your browser instead. Tokens are only for calling Ninety's API directly — see API Reference and Access.
What the connector can do
Your assistant can read the Ninety data your role and teams already give you access to:
Rocks and their milestones, filtered by team, owner, status, level, or quarter.
Issues, short-term and long-term, by team or by search text.
To-Dos, yours and your teams', filtered by due date or status.
Scorecard Measurables and their actual scores across a span of periods.
Meetings — your team's next one with its agenda and roster, and past ones with their notes and the items they produced.
Headlines and Cascading Messages, one team at a time.
Your V/TO® and your Accountability Chart®.
The teams you work with and the people in your company.
It can write to Ninety in ten ways. It can create To-Dos, Issues, Rocks, milestones, and Headlines, comment on To-Dos and Issues, update a Rock and its milestones, and enter a Measurable's score. It cannot update or delete your Issues or To-Dos, and it cannot delete anything at all.
Warning: Entering a score overwrites whatever score is already recorded for that Measurable and period, without first warning you. Give your assistant a date in the middle of the week you mean, because a date on a period boundary can land in the neighboring period with no error shown.

Choosing between the connector, Maz, the Public API, and Zapier
The MCP connector is one of four ways to work with your Ninety data outside the usual screens. Use this to pick the right path:

Many teams use more than one. A common pattern is Zapier for the weekly Scorecard update, Maz for in-app work, and an MCP connector for one-off analysis spanning several systems. How security and permissions work
The connector runs as you, which is the most important thing to understand about its security. It authenticates with your own Ninety login, so your assistant can only ever see and do what you can already see and do in Ninety.
Your permissions apply. Your role and team assignments govern every call. See User Roles and Permissions.
You approve access. Nothing connects until you authorize it in your browser, and you choose which company the connection reaches.
Your name is on what it creates. Items the connector adds or changes are recorded as yours, and private To-Dos are never returned.
You can disconnect anytime. Access ends as soon as you do.
Only published tools are reachable. New capability in Ninety's API does not silently become a new capability for your assistant.
Connecting an assistant sends Ninety data to that assistant, and data that reaches it is governed by that company's terms and privacy policy, not by Ninety. Ninety connects to Google's AI through Antigravity, Google's agent-first development environment, which has its own setup guide above. The Gemini app doesn't currently offer a way to add a custom MCP connector like Ninety.
Can I connect more than one assistant at the same time?
Yes. Each assistant is a separate connection and each one runs as you. Connecting one does not affect any other.

Which plans include the MCP connector?

What's the difference between the MCP connector and the Public API?

Can an assistant delete my Ninety data?
No. The connector cannot delete anything. It can create To-Dos, Issues, Rocks, Headlines, milestones, and comments, update Rocks and milestones, and enter Scorecard scores. Entering a score does replace the value already recorded for that Measurable and period, and a comment cannot be removed once it is posted.
Can my whole team use the connector?
Yes. Each person connects their own assistant account, and each connection runs as that person. Everyone except Observers can connect.
Does the connector work on the Ninety mobile app?
No. Connecting and using the connector is web-based only.
